Jul 9 -The last Group Email

Well this is the last group email I am going to write.

It is such a strange thing going home from a mission. When you look back at all that happened in the course of two years it feels like a long time, but at the same time it feels like just a dream.

This past week was great! I have just been saying goodbyes and trying to prepare the area to get a new missionary. I did tracting this week and found some cool families, it will be cool to see how they progress with Elder Rabemanajaina and his companion. We will be having baptisms again on the 28 of July and that is when most of my investigators will be getting baptized. It was hard saying goodbye to the people, and this beautiful place. my feelings and thought are everywhere. I am making sure that every lesson we teach I am bearing my testimony of the truthfulness of this work and the church which we pray at, the truthfulness of the Book of Mormon and what that knowledge forces us to do, and the lifestyle we have to live when we know that it is true. I love all of my investigators, recent converts and those I consider my family here in Madagascar and in Reunion. I know that the church is the true church here on earth I have loved my mission more than anything else I have done in my life. I am grateful for all the lessons I learned over the 2 years and the lessons I will apply throughout the rest of my life.

love Elder Wolfgramm

Walker will be speaking in church on July 22  at 9 am, if you would like to come hear him.

Jul 2 - Ny batisa farany

Well this week was one of my favorite weeks of my mission. I had done a lot of reflecting this past week on things I did good on my mission, things I wish I would have done better, hard times the BEST times. and after all the reflecting I did I realize I am not ready to come home. I love this place. I have met the most amazing people and had the most amazing experiences.
This week we had what will probably be my last baptisms on my mission. The next baptism we have is on the 14 of July and I will be in Antananarivo at that time. For the opening song of the baptism we sang Joseph Smith's First Prayer. I looked over at everyone dressed in white and thought about the progress they had made since the first time I taught them. I thought of the personal changes they made in their lives to be where they were. I also thought of how all of this was possible because of the prayer of one young 14 year old boy as we sang about the First Vison. As I was looking at them Nicole looked back at me and just smiled, and had the biggest smile she could ever have and said "I am so Happy!!!!" I was overcome with a feeling of love and I thought of all the changes she is going to see in her life over the next few years. On Sunday after her baptism we talked and she said I am the luckiest person in the world I got the best blessing when I got the Holy Ghost.  She said "Elder Wolfgramm, I got blessed to endure to the end and go to the temple one day, you see how lucky I am?" I really do see how lucky WE are to be members of the true and restored church.

On Sunday we had an outstanding turn out. I am so sad I won't be able to see what comes of the next few months, we had all of our recent converts, as well as the most investigators (27) I have had in Fort Dauphin attend one meeting. We had a new family show up as well as a new father named Jedikaille. They both absolutely loved church and the testimonies of all of the recent converts and members.

I wish I had more time to write all the wonderful things that happened this week. But because we went to the most amazing place in the world called Amboasary today I didn't have time to write a good email.

I love my life and my mission. I know we are loved by our Father in Heaven. I will see most of you in a few weeks. take care and have a good week.

Jun 25- efatraha

Well this past week was awesome. We had some great lessons. We had a lesson with Anje this week and it was good, we explained that where he is right now in his life he has a lot of problems, and how he is not sure what he should do. We then talked about how the Savior can and will bless him if he has faith. We read the scriptures in Luke, Matthew, and Mark, that say those that try to save their lives, will lose them. those that lose their lives for my sake will save their lives. We told him that he needs to be willing to lose his life, so that he can save it. He needs to have the faith in Jesus Christ and believe that he will be able to be saved in his everyday life. He agreed that he needs to leave his life and follow Christ. He is not married so he will be having a hard time getting baptized. We can't teach him this week because he will be out of Fort Dauphin. He will be coming back next week so that might be the last time I see and teach Anje.

Nicole has passed her baptismal interview, so she will be getting baptized on this Saturday. I am so excited she is one of the coolest people I have taught my whole mission, also Justain is getting baptized this Saturday. These will be the last baptisms I will have on my mission I am looking forward to see these people enter into a covenant with God and Jesus Christ. I love my mission and the times that I am able to see the changes in others life.

Have a great week and try to enjoy every day, life is too short to be upset or sad.

Jun 18 - soa avao aty am nay

This week was great!
This week was really good I was able to get my last zone conference from President Foote, it was a wonderful conference. I loved it, learned so much from him. He has been one of the most influential men in my life. He is a spiritual giant. he will be missed.

We are still working as hard as we can to catch all of our goals. We are getting pretty close. We are having allot of our investigators progressing towards baptism. Nicole has accepted baptismal date finally. It was a miracle and she is way happy to be getting baptized. She will be getting baptized on the 30th of June. We are preparing 5 investigators for their baptismal date on that date. I am sorry again for such a bad email today, just know I am happy and healthy, and not another place I would rather be on earth right now. I promise I WILL WRITE A MUCH BETTER ONE NEXT WEEK.

Jun 11 - Valim-Bavaka

This past week was awesome.

The greatest thing that happened this past week has got to be Nicola. this past Saturday and Sunday we stopped by him and had two great lessons about the Book of Mormon and the truthfulness of the book. And not only that but the truthfulness of the church. We talked to him about how his reading had been and the impressions he had gotten over the week and the thoughts he had concerning the church and the Book of Mormon. He said he didn't really have much time to read it which was disappointing but I cant blame him, life is busy so I feel for him. So we talked about it and read it with him and then asked him what his feeling are about it. He wasn't sure. So we talked about the spirit and the ways we can feel it and how it blesses us and our lives. We gave him the homework to think and pray hard about the Book of Mormon on Saturday and then on Sunday we will talk again. He came to church and had a good experience at church. After we met and taught him again. We again focused on the Book of Mormon and talked about how true it is as well as answered all his questions. At the end we talked about what he has to do when he knows it is true and he said well I cant lie to you guys I feel good every time you come here but it is just way different to what I am used to. We talked about how we don't want him to follow just because we say it but because he feel is it is true. He said yeah I feel it is true but he still just wants some time. I told him that It will bless his life in all aspects and now he is starting on a long path of blessings for ever. It is super cool to see it all coming together, I know the Book of Mormon is true. you can too all you have to do is read and ask..... its that simple!

Jun 4 - Last Transfer

Well we had just finished the second to last transfer, and it went by so fast. my transfer is that I am staying with Elder Rabeemananjaina in Amparihy, I am really excited to stay in Amparihy with Elder Rabe. I am hopping to see a few more of my investigators get baptized, also looking forward to spending more time with our recent converts.

Some really cool things that happened this past week we had a few brand new investigators come to church this past week the coolest one was Nicola he is so cool, he came to church and now he reading the Book of Mormon and searching the truth, we left Sunday with homework of him reading the Book of Mormon and searching for the truth, he works everyday this week so can't learn until next Saturday so we will see what the spirit does for him this week. One of the realizations I have had on my mission is what I say really is not all that important in the conversion of an investigator, If I don't speak the language super well like I did in Reunion, or if I say something really bold really wont effect the investigator too much. But what will affect him is if he feels the spirit, if he gets a confirmation that what I say is true, If he himself is searching for the truth and desires to find it. That is what really effects them. I hope this week he has a great week with the Book of Mormon and the spirit I will continue calling him this week to remind him but I am looking forward to what he feels and learns personally this week. On Saturday I imagine our lesson will be a little bit of a question and answer but mostly just talking about what he learned and felt from the things he read. Please pray for him to be able to hear the spirit.

I love this mission, things are going great! I could talk about 30 other investigators just like Nicola. I love the work I am doing. Be safe and have fun this week

May 28 -ka bosaka rehe kah

Well this week was another fantastic week in paradise.
This past week we had some great lessons with Anje and Jean Eva. Our lesson with Anje resulted in him telling us that he knows the church is true, if he lived in another country or city where he had no friends or family he would leave his church altogether but because of his circumstances and his family it is so difficult to leave his church, he feels so alone. He expressed his fear of not following God but also "betraying his family and friends". He has got a difficult situation to deal with. We gave him some homework to read in Alma when Alma gives his sons counsel on trusting in God even when the future is uncertain. He really is so torn, and feels very alone, nothing we can say will give him the comfort he needs it is just him and God.
Jean Eva had another great lesson, we taught him the law of chastity and he accepted it and said "yeah it is going to be very difficult to keep our thoughts clean at all times but I sure will try". We also told him that he has to be legally married to his wife before he can get baptized. And then he said "Wow, can't I get baptized and then get married, is that OK?" He knew it wasn't OK so he told us he and Mina, his wife, were going to seriously think about it and then the next time we meet they will tell us the verdict.
Life is going great here in the Indian ocean I love this work and the joy I receive from it surpasses all other things.

May 21 - langosta

Well this week was great, lot of cool lessons and some other great things happened. Highlights of the week are our lesson with Justain, when we taught him we talked about the Book of Mormon and how it will change his life in so many aspects. He will draw closer to Christ, receive temple blessings, and you will know that this church is the true church and with that knowledge your life will change forever. We read a little of it with him and talked about how he knows the book is true and why he should desire to search for the truth. At the end of the lesson he told us he already knows the church is true because it is logical and just is clear. But I will read it to get a confirmation of what I already know. He then accepted a bap date for the 30 of June and is ready to all he can to prepare for that date and come to receive a strong testimony about the church and Christ and the truthfulness of our message. We are so excited to be teaching him and many others that are the same as him.

I love it here and am so happy to be here in madagascar!!!!

May 14 - Happy Mothers Day

Well Happy Mothers Day everyone this week was wonderful we had a lot of success this week tracting with our free time we tracted into a new family, who the fathers name is Justain and sure enough they came to church and have a great understanding of our message and are ready for it to change their lives forever, it is going to be an incredible journey for them. I am so excited to see all of there progression.

also on Sunday Anje came to church again and we had a great time with him there. He had great questions that involved our whole class of investigators. He made it very clear that he knew the answers to the questions but he wanted to make sure that it was clear to all of our investigators. He then bore an incredible testimony to all of the people in attendance of the truthfulness of our message. It was way cool.

I am loving my time here in Fort Dauphin.  We are seeing a ton of miracles as we work hard and trust in the Lord.

May 7 - miasa mafy vao mikaly

Well this week was great, work is still going great.

This past week we found a pretty cool new investigators from English class. Method and Bruno are the new investigators that we found from English class. We taught them this past week and they understood us great and are actually super interested in it. These are some of the few cool investigators from english class. They came to church and are progressing really well I am excited to see how they progress. We have been praying to find new investigators with the little bit of time that we have and we found them and they are free right in our schedule. We are finding so much success in our work. I have loved it.

We had one of my last zone conferences this past week, I loved it I look up to President Foote so much and aspire to be like him one day. I have loved my mission and all of the wonderful experiences I have had on my mission.

Apr 30 - What a Great Week

This week was wonderful. This week we had another baptism. It was beautiful to see the people enter into the church. This week we had some great lessons as well. I would say that defiantly the highlight of the week were the baptisms. I don't know if I have talked about Anje but he has just comeback from Tana and came to church for the first time this past week, and he contributed and had a great time.

We had a great baptism this Saturday one of our investigators Juvain got baptized and he was so happy it was a great experience, I am sorry I am not super good with my words I am trying my best to be a good missionary, I am LOVING my time here and am sad to see the time going so fast. I can't express my love for these people I am so grateful to work here with these people, Me and my companion are getting along great it is fun to work with him. I am excited to see the wonderful things we can accomplish this transfer as we work together

Apr 23 - 26+4

Well this week was great! We are preparing for our next baptisms, on this Saturday. I am so happy to be able to be a missionary at this beautiful time. There is a lot of cool things that have happened this past week, Jeaneva and Mina continue to progress and grow and it will take a little bit more time for them to come to know and be ready to follow Jesus Christ and get baptized. the work with Elder Rabemanajaina is going good, a little bit different, but good. I am sorry not a whole lot of time this week.

Don't forget that God works in the little details in our life. I know He is there and He loves us.

Transfers Apr 16

Well we just finished a transfer and my time with Elder Hunter is over. I am really sad that the run had to come to an end, my time with Hunter will be some of the best time on my mission. But I am now here with Elder Rabemanajaina, or aka Raldous. One of my best friends from Tamatave. I served in his branch while I was in Tamatave and he helped me all the time, and now we are companions.

In other good news we had another great miracle this past week. as we have been praying and planning for our goals with baptisms, we had to drop another family that we thought was going to be in the goals we had created for baptism. We were both pretty sad because we had been planning on him and his wife getting baptized but it wasn't going to happen. But this past Sunday we had a new man show up to church out of nowhere, we didn't know where he was from or why he came to church so we set up a time with him after church to talk to him. We went to his house and started talking to him, we learned why he came to church in the first place. we met his wife and his 3 children. He said that a few months ago his sister died and it has really been on his mind non stop, and as he was thinking about it he realized that he needed to go to church. He used to pray at the catholic church, and he was going to go back to it but he felt like he shouldn't. He felt like that was not where God wanted him to go. In his mind he saw our church and decided that is where god wants him to go. so he came to church and said "I am so excited to learn from you missionaries this is our church now!!!"

It really is a huge miracle, I know that god still performs miracles now and still leads His work.

I love it here It is so cool and such a great time to be a missionary. Trust God

15 X 2

This week was a great week, we were able to watch the conference.

The highlights of the week were definitely the conference, and the people that came to attend the conference. As we got ready to watch the conference on Sunday with our branch we had a new family come into the sacrament room, we had Jeaneva and Mina, a mother and father of a great family that me and Hunter have been praying for. After watching the conference we had talked with Jeaneva and got another return time to come and explain everything in the conference. It was so cool to see our goals and prayers get answered by god.

I love this church and my mission, I know that Russel M Nelson is the prophet of God and has been called to accomplish his work.

Apr 1- Ny Herinandro tsara indrindra

This week was fantastic, we had another baptism on Saturday and we also had great lessons this week.

The investigator of the week is Ange, he has come to find out that the church is logically sound and that his current church definitely has got holes, he is so confused because he has given his all to his church, and now he sees that his church does not have the fullness. He desires to know of the truth more than anything else in his life right now he said he thinks about it all the time. He is doing all he can to find out where the truth is and what he should do. Keep him in your prayers he is fighting the inner battle right now.

Really |I am loving it here right now!  Keep Ange in your prayers and that is all he needs.

Mar 25 - TRANT (30)

What's up family and friends? This week honestly feels like a pretty long week. Last week we had the district conference and this week was just jam packed with lessons and times.

Some highlights of the week are Ange, Kilary, and Tsy kivy:

So to start off with Ange, we have been teaching Ange for like 3 weeks now and he is loving the lessons every time we come he is ready and prepared for us to teach him. He always tells us that we don't spend enough time with him and that we need to stay longer and give him more. He has told us that he is convinced that our church is true and that just logically the Book of Mormon is the word of God, he still needs some time to read it and come to know the spirit that tells him it is true. He is progressing really well.

Kilary, Kilary is not the smartest man in the world but he is definitely one of the most humble who is ready for the gospel. He has come to church the past 2 weeks and has been reading the pamphlet and asking great questions, his job right now is he purchases alcohol and the sells it to stores, that then sell it to people. He asked us this week if god was ok with it, and he justified it by saying that he is not selling it to anyone and he doesn't drink it, it just gives him money. We asked him what he thinks god thinks about it, he said he probably doesn't like it, I told him he is probably right. So we will see if he quits his job.

Finally Tsy kivy, we taught him for the first time last night, he was really interested about it and looking forward all of our teachings. We gave him a pamphlet and told him he needs to read it before our next time. He was really excited and told us he would read it that night, I didn't believe him because it was already like 8 at night and usually Malagasy's go to bed at 9, but at about 11:30 at night last night he sent a message that said "I have read the pamphlet and I love it and am looking forward to the next time I see you, have a great night."

Life is going great here in Fort D, this Saturday we will have another baptism. I love my mission and my time to serve here.

Mar 18 - lasa lehibe fort dauphin

This week was wonderful..... highlights of the week are that Fort Dauphin has become a district this past week, I got to watch the organization of a district this past week. Also Ivan and Zarasoa got married this past week it was wonderful.
Yesterday we got to witness a creation of a district here in Fort Dauphine with the calling of a district presidency. Danilson will be the first counselor in the district presidency, and we now have a new branch president who is going to be stretched and learn a lot it is going to be wonderful.
Also Ivan and Zarasoa got married. there are so many blessings from living the gospel one of them is, that now when ever Ivan and Zarasoa look at each other they can say we are a family. we are married and not just 2 people living together but an actual family. It is way cool. It is a big deal for them to get married they were trying to save up enough money so that they could get their copies from there home town so that they could get legally married. They had to save up 8000 ari ari to get out to there home town. It was a big sacrifice which caused them to work over and work on extra days to try to find enough money to get out there. 8000 ari ari is a lot of money for them it is like 2 days salary. Just to keep it in perspective that is $2.50. It really is a different world out here. Two and a half dollars were keeping them from their marriage/baptism for so long. We were going out that way on a p-day and so me and Elder Hunter ran into their city and got there copies for them and paid for them. They got married this past Thursday and now nothing is holding them back from getting baptized on the 31 of March.

I love it out here the people are great and the language is beautiful.
be safe where ever you are and trust that all will work out:/

March 5 - fivoriana avao

Well this week we had a ton of fun. Involving weddings, new investigators and meetings with a member of the seventy. It started off on Thursday right before me and Elder Hunter flew off to Tana. We had two of our investigators get married and should be getting baptized this Saturday we will be doing the interview tonight, and hopefully they can pass it. Then we flew off to Tana. In Tana we had an MLC conference with Elder Palmer of the seventy, you may remember him, he gave the talk about Beholding and Loving those that Disappoint us. I learned so much from the MLC and have tons of great thoughts and ideas to apply into my teaching and leading. We then on Friday drove with the Palmers to the airport and boarded a plane with them to Fort Dauphin. It was really cool I got a lot of personal time with him. I again learned a lot. I have loved my time and the things I have learned. We then had a great zone conference with him on Sunday after church where we learned even more wonderful things.

That is the time I have today.

Feb 19 - Peak St Louis

Well this week was another great week in the life of the mission. I have been doing a study on the Book of Mormon just about the spirit and how we can improve our personal spirituality. I saw some interesting things as I tried to apply the things I have learned that as we attempt to keep all the commandments of God we are promised to have the spirit with us. This week we were able to see many miracles this past week, especially while we were finding.

We had been kind of worried about one of our families not being able to catch their bap date on the 24 because they are still not married legally. But after having a lesson with them this past week I saw how truly dedicated they are and how much they want to be baptized. Please keep them in your prayers (Ivan and Zarsoa).

Also this past week we were able to have Gevon come to church again and stay for all three hours so that was great. I really am so soorry for how bad my letters are I mean to write more and say more. I will try to get better at it.

Have a fantastic week.

Feb 11 - Amparihy

Well this week was full of ups and downs. It is good to be back in Madagascar but I caught a bug or something this past week and so yesterday I was at home all day sick. It is gone today and I feel a lot better but I know I will probably get sick a few more times just because it is Madagascar. This week we got some more news about Dolin and Hariete his wife about their wedding. On Tuesday we went out searching for the eldest in her family to ask if we could post pone the "fomba gasy" and just get married legally when we found the oldest brother of her father he argued with us a little bit but then understood what we are trying to do and accepted it. We were pretty happy because we were going to have their wedding in the following weeks which allows them to get baptized. On Wednesday we go to their house and they gave us bad news that the Eldest was actually just being nice to us because we are Vazahas but he still does not accept it, so we are going to have to wait like 4 months for them to get enough money to buy some cows and some drinks and rice. It is pretty frustrating but there is nothing we can do about it. Other good news from the week is me and Elder Hunter tracted into this guy named Dider about 2 weeks ago and he came to church on Sunday, had a great time, made some friends and told us he wants to come back every week. We also have another family that will be getting married this week and they will be getting baptized on the 24th of February. Please pray for them. All and all work and life here in Madagascar are going great. I love it here.

Have a great week

Feb 5 - Akory zo raha

Great week here in Fort D! Love it here, it is way beautiful. And the work goes great here. I will talk about some of our cool investigators. We have this guy Dider he is about 23 years old and he is going to school. We have taught him about the Book of Mormon and he has accepted it. He quit praying about 2 years ago due to some concerns with the pastor of his church. He has been searching for the truth for a while and he is super cool, I am excited to see the things that come from him.  He asks great questions and is super funny.
Sorry not a ton of time today, we have a big day planned so I don't have time to write about all the wonderful experiences I have had here, but ask me when I get home and I will tell you.  haha. Really I love my mission It is the best mission in the world. I feel bad for anyone else who can't serve here it is the best.

Jan 29 - Bolongany "huge"

Well this week was wonderful. Great to be back home. It is such a good feeling to be able to walk up to anyone and speak Malagasy. French has come in handy, I have ran into a few French dudes that before I would just ignore but now I can have a meaningful conversation with them and get invited over for dinner with them. To be honest though my Malagasy is really rusty. Its not that I am bad at it but I just make a ton of mistakes. I am mixing up verbs and when they should be used. This next week I am going on a Malagasy cleanse. Only going to speak Malagasy to clean up all the mistakes I am making. I can still understand everything and teach  good enough to convince everyone I am fluent, but I can still see all the mistakes I am making. I am so happy to be back here again. We were able to get a bunch of investigators back to church this week, so by the end of February we will start having baptisms. I have realized again that the Malagasy people are some of my favorite people on the planet.

We have some pretty cool investigators. We have this guy named Dolin, and he is awesome. He came to church this week and the whole time he just kept looking at his Book of Mormon and smiling, and then he would look at Hunter and I and give us a thumbs up. We taught him this past week too and he remembered everything about the Restoration and why we needed it. His only problem is he is living with his "wife" but they are not married so he can't get baptized and he doesn't have the money to do the wedding, So we just have to wait for them to get it done. But the time is shortly coming when that is done.

Thats all I am going to talk about this week but there is so much more I could. I love it here really I do it ts the coolest place on earth

Jan 15 - One of the best weeks of the mission

Well where to start?
This week was another week of miracles. I am not getting surprised by all the miracles I am seeing anymore. It really is just part of life now. I will talk about the baptism of Erwan. On Saturday was the baptism of Ewarn. It was a beautiful day, I was able to see the light of Erwan change as he came out of the water spotless, and with a feeling of greater hope and love. He then received the Holy Ghost on Sunday and could not stop smiling. Really one of the happiest kids you will ever see. When days like that come on mission it makes everything worth it.

Right before the baptism I received some fantastic news. President gave me a call and said "Elder Wolfgramm, I got great news, you are going back to Madagascar. you will leaving on Wednesday for Fort Duaphin." I could not stop cheering and celebrating. It was one of the best news I could have heard. Don't get me wrong I love the island of Reunion and the people here but I love the people of Madagascar just as much. (and I can actually speak to the people of Madagascar)

That is pretty much the week and the highlights from this week.

Jan 9 - la vie d'un missionnaire

Well it was another great week to be a missionary. We found a ton of new people here this week. I am way sad because right when we are having success in the work and right when there are miracles every day I am getting transferred/ kicked off the island. I went down to the visa office and asked them if there was any way could stay and they said no you must leave. So I will be heading to the island of Mauritius. I am really excited to be going to Mauritius It will be a great experience. I am sad to leave another island that I have come to love as well though. We will be having another baptism here in St. Denis on this Saturday. It is Ewarn he was the first guy I met when I first came here to Reunion he is also the one I have been wrestling with on Monday mornings. He has decided to get baptized and get on the path that leads directly to happiness. We are also working with this guy named Zeeshan, he is about 22 years old who is studying at the university he has got a lot of questions about life in general and how the Gospel will bless him in his life. He also has questions about what the Church's views on world arguments right now. and why they are the way that they are, like women rights, gay marriage, wars, racism... etc. I think it is so interesting how different the questions are here than they are in Madagascar. In Madagascar no one would really care/or know about any of the problems of the world right now. It is really a different world completely here in France than in Madagascar. I am loving the opportunity to have all these experiences.I love it here.

Life is great, enjoy it, and find peace.

Jan 2 - The Volcano

What a fantastic week, it was full of baptisms, miracles and a volcano. First off we had a baptism. My investigator from Le Port got baptized. Joele one of the coolest women I have ever met in my life, got baptized. She has finished the Book of Mormon, and has seen her life change completely. She sees so much more happiness in her life. Her relationship with her father has improved, and she notices tender mercies from the lord every day. And she has greater peace in her life. She is so grateful for the gospel in her life. It has been one of the many miracles I have seen here in La Reunion, and one I will remember for ever. Also another miracle we had was on Sunday as we were walking to church we saw this guy and we invited him to church and he showed up. Literally as we were going to church we got him to come to church. and then had a great lesson with him.

Finally I had the opportunity to go to a volcano today, one of the few active volcanoes on earth way cool.

I love my life and this mission. I can promise that blessings come to our lives as we apply the gospel of Jesus Christ in our lives. but you will never know that unless you apply them.
